Dr. E-Chien Foo (傅衣健): received a B.S. in physics from National Taiwan University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from University of Miami. He joined Exxon Production Research Co. in 1981 until retired from ExxonMobil Development Co. in 2013. In his 32 years with ExxonMobil, e-chien spent equal time in research, exploration, development and production company. He started in source rock research and became a team lead in 1986. He then moved to Data Management and Interpretation Division to work on geophysical software development. In 1989, he joined the Deepwater Reservoir System Study in Gulf of Mexico and became an expert in deepwater reservoir core team. He moved to Angola Deepwater exploration in 1996. From 1998 to 2008, he worked two projects from development to early production. In 2008, he transferred to Malaysia as a senior geophysical advisor responsible for oil and gas production and new gas field development. He moved back to Houston in 2011 until retirement. E-Chien has been an active member of CAPA. He served in the capacity of president in 1993, board member in 2005-2007, vice chair in 2006 and chair in 2007. He was elected to the board again in 2011.
